Biopreparation Production Unit Biopreparation Production Unit was established in 2000 and it produces the mycorrhizal vaccine for the needs of organizational units of State Forests. The author of the Polish Technology of Biopreparation Production is Professor Stefan Kowalski, whose long-term researches allowed to isolate the graft of an ectomycorrhizal fungus Hebeloma crustuliniforme. The above fungus occurs naturally in our forests and establishes an efficient symbiosis with a wide range of forest trees in the young stages of their development. Biopreparation and a mycorrhized seedling. The main ingredient of the biopreparation is a mycelium raised on the peat-vermicullite substrate. The biopreparation is packed into the three and a half – litre bags, which enables its easy application in forest nurseries. Biopreparation can be applied to the mycorrhization of seedlings of the following trees: Pine, Spruce, Larch, Pediculate Oak, Douglas Fir, Linden, Beech, Ash and Hornbeam. Dosage of the vaccine depends on the species of a tree as well as the size of a container, in which the seedlings are cultivated. Biopreparation improves the growth and development of seedlings: · increases the number of lateral roots, especailly short roots of the last range, rich in ectomycorrhiza, · increases the assimilation surface of roots, · improves the seedlings water supply and increases the drought tolerance, · improves the consumption of nutrients delivered by the mineral fertilization, · improves the coloration of seedlings, · increases the resistance of seedlings to the root diseases, · improves the compactness of root lump in the containers, · decreases the risk of the decline of particle roots during the transplantation. Application of the mycorrhized seedlings: · lands ecologically destroyed due to the anthropogenic activities, · fire-damaged lands, · post agricultural lands, · locations along the highways.
The mycorrhizal vaccine produced in the Kostrzyca FGB is
characterized by a very high quiality. |
